Xuelai Wu is an active collaborative pianist lived in Cleveland, Ohio. She has more than 7-year experience as a vocal and choral accompanist and was also the assigned accompanist in vocal and double bass competition in Beijing.
The singers she has performed with including Tenor Maomao Ji, the first prize winner of 2011 Maria Callas International Singing competition(Beijing), Baritone Nan Zhou, the youth singer prize winner of 2009 Renata Tebaldi International Voice Competition.
Ms. Wu also performed in masterclasses for important pianists such as Hartmut Höll and Carlo Balzaretti.In 2009 She has recieved her first M.M in vocal accompanying in Beijing Central Conservatory of Music(CCOM) , her teacher includes Meng Bian, Bixuan Zhao and Shixi Hu. After graduation, she hold the staff accompanist in Voice and Opera Department in CCOM from 2009 to 2011.
Currently she is pursuing her second Master in collaborative piano(focus on instrumental collaboration) in Cleveland Institute of Music(CIM) studying with Anita Pontremoli.
A native of China, Ms Wu started playing piano at three in Guangzhou where she studied with Qi He,the former faculty of Xinghai Conservatory of Music(XHCOM) and Meide Wang, the pianist in Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra(GSO). She received her bachelor's degree of piano performance from Shouthchina Normal University(SCNU) as a student of Shouyan Liu in 2006. In her undergraduate times, she won the prize of TOYAMA Asian Music Competition and earned the first prize of Mozart Group in Hongkong Piano Competition. She was also the accompanist of college chorus and performed in France.
