Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, Yukimi Song began her piano and composition studies at four. In 2007, she moved to New York City to pursue advanced graduate studies at New York University's Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, where she earned an Advanced Certificate in Music. While at NYU, Yukimi also taught piano as an adjunct instructor at the Steinhardt School and began building a thriving independent piano studio.
Since then, Yukimi has established herself as a prominent piano educator and performer in New York. In 2013, she founded Yukimi Song Studio LLC, which educates over 40 piano enthusiasts of all ages and levels.
Her notable performances in New York include “Mating Calls…Liebeslieder/Craigslistlieder” at Riverside Church, the “Spring Chamber Concert” at Tenri Institute, and a solo recital at Black Box Theatre.
In addition to her performing and teaching career, Yukimi is the host and executive producer of two podcast shows: “Conversations with a Piano Student,” which showcases her students' musical journeys, and “The Piano Pod,” where she interviews renowned musicians and industry thought leaders, bridging classical music with modern audiences.
