Luciano Laurentiu - Collaborative pianist & Vocal coach
Born in Timisoara, Romania where he trained at the Ion Vidu Music Academy, Mr. Laurentiu’s piano instruction continued at Wheaton College and at The Eastman School of Music.
Based in Chicago IL until July 2019, he made his piano solo debut on WFMT (Chicago’s premier classical music station) in April 2010 and his Orchestra Hall debut at Symphony Center in November 2015. In Chicago, Luciano Laurentiu was staff accompanist and vocal coach at DePaul University’s School of Music and Chorus Master of the Paderewski Symphony Chorus.
His performances in the Chicago area include The Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra, The American Opera Group, Candid Concert Opera, Chicago Summer Opera, South Shore Opera, Paderewski Symphony Orchestra, Lyric Opera of Chicago and The Chicago Bach Ensemble. Internationally, Mr. Laurentiu has performed in Germany, Spain, Poland, Switzerland, Italy, Romania and Mexico.
He was staff accompanist and coach at the Greve Music Academy in Greve in Chianti, Tuscany, Italy where he worked with young singers, accompanying voice lessons, doing private voice coachings, accompanying opera staging rehearsals, masterclasses, and playing continuo in the orchestra for several operas.
In July 2019, Luciano Laurentiu relocated to Austin TX where he accompanies extensively for singers, instrumentalists, and choirs, having collaborated with Austin Opera, LOLA, Austin Cantorum, The Diocesan Choir of Austin, Gilbert and Sullivan, Scholas of St. Louis King of France Church, St. Mary Cathedral and Austin Polyphony.
