I have studied the piano since childhood and spent my first two 1/2 years in college as a music major, before changing course to pursue a business career. While working full time, I continued to study piano and played as often as possible. Now retired, I have immersed myself back into the piano, learning new music and performing. For the past 10+ years, I have studied with Montana composer and recording artist, Philip Aaberg. My musical tastes are eclectic so I play pieces that are beautiful, interesting, challenging or some combination of the above rather than having a specialty in any one genre. I have one video on YouTube from a house concert given a few years ago. While I have since given other concerts, I have not paid to have them recorded. Over the years, I have accompanied choirs, individual vocalists, served as a church pianist, played for musical theatre, fundraisers, private parties, and given house concerts. I have played for high end restaurants and clubs. In addition, I own a high quality digital keyboard and sound re-enforcement equipment.
Fees
$ 100.00 Dollars Per Hour
$100 is my normal hourly event rate, with a discount of approximately 40% given to non profit fundraisers. For churches, I can normally work within their budgets. Fees for weddings or funerals are usually determined by the church. If I have to provide the keyboard and equipment, my event rates increase by $50.00. In terms of "specialisms" listed below, I interpret "early music" to mean classical music which I love to play. My normal rate as a church musician is $150 per service which may or may not include a rehearsal. Fee is negotiable if performing the same exact service more than once.
